Porto

Holaaaaa!!

So this past weekend, I finally got to travel out of Spain for 2 days and a night.  We went to Porto, Portugal and it was great!  The weather was a little cloudy upon arrival but it turned out to be a great weekend.

The first thing we did when we got there was went on a boat tour along Rio Douro which was beautiful!  It was really neat to see everything that lined the river with the wineries and small outdoor cafes. The hostel we stayed at was perfect, it was a wine hostel!  Porto is really well known for the wine they produced so we were able to do a wine tasting at our hostel as well as visit a popular wine producer in Porto- Porto Cruz- to have a small tour and wine tasting there as well.  The people were extremely nice and the hostel workers were so helpful.  It was really interesting to hear Portuguese, but most of the people there were able to speak Spanish and English which was good for us.

As far as everything else in Spain goes, I'm doing really well!  I feel like my Spanish is still improving but I'm starting to be less and less intimidated to talk to people and that's working really well.  It's amazing how much a small change in attitude can change things... sometimes it's just a matter of confidence.

This weekend, AEGEE is taking a trip to Santander, another small city in Northern Spain.  This trip, followed by 3, hopefully short, days of class, is all that stands in between spring break and my mom coming to visit!  I'm so excited for her to be her and show someone everything that I've been living so far.  I can't believe I've already been here for two months, it definitely doesn't feel like that long.  I'm getting more used to the living her, but there are of course a lot of things I miss about the United States as well... one of them being WaWa! haha

Until next time everyone!... Miss you all :)
